Nevada is interesting even in the dark

When coming into Nevada, one needs to consider that fuel stops are critical due to all the mountain climbing required. I just never figured out why it was necessary to travel I-80 in Nevada at 80 plus miles an hour unless the hiway number equals the speed limit, but I thought that only counted in Montana????? It would seem to me that at $2.69 a gallon for gas, one might want to consider slowing down just a little??????? But since there were more than one, then one can only assume that more than one requires that all except one must GO REALLY FAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And since I was the only one, I must have gotten the exemption.

My intent was to go to Sparks and fuel up, but unfortunately the mountains require more fuel so a stop in Winnemucca was needed. I wonder what Winnemucca means??????? I can only think that it would be part of some language that means, loosely translated, "people who go fast get to buy more gas"?????????????

There is not much to tell about Nevada as I was driving in the dark most of that state, of course I am in the dark most of the time anyway, but I did notice a couple of things.

Gas is higher the farther west you get and I don't understand that, but it is just one of those unexplained anomalies {I haven't used a big fancy word in a while so I thought I would throw that in} and since I have absolutely no idea what that means, that makes it even more fun...............

The only two things I know for sure about Nevada is that the MUSTANG RANCH is off of exit 28 and they have pay phones in the rest areas.!!!!! I bring up the pay phone only because I have not seen any in years. If they have them down south, I have no idea where they are. I got so excited that I actually took a picture which you find on this post. The pay phone is at a rest area in Fernley, Nevada for those possibly going on a tour of phone booths.

Well, it is about 10 pm and time for some sleep. So I pull in between a couple of 18 wheelers, make Miss Mabel comfortable, lock the steering on Blue Boy, crawl into the back and go to sleep.
